Every Ecofurniture piece is built to last. This Warranty explains what we cover, how long, and how to make a claim. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) apply in addition to this Warranty and are not limited by it.

The warranty period starts on the date of delivery.

What is covered

Ecofurniture warrants that our products will be free from manufacturing defects when used for normal domestic purposes under normal conditions. This includes:

  • Structural defects in the frame or construction
  • Failure of joins, fixings, or fittings supplied by us due to manufacturing fault
  • Defective drawer runners, hinges, or hardware supplied with the product
  • Delamination or peeling of veneer/finish caused by manufacturing fault
  • Foam or spring failure in mattresses beyond normal settling

If a defect is found, we will β€” at our discretion β€” repair, replace, or refund the affected item.

What is NOT covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear β€” scratches, dents, fading, marks, general aging
  • Damage from misuse, accidents, or abuse β€” cuts, burns, spills, pet damage, or exposure to extreme conditions
  • Damage caused during self-assembly β€” stripped screws, over-tightened fittings, incorrect construction
  • Damage from incorrect care β€” use of harsh chemicals, direct sunlight, excessive heat, or damp environments
  • Modifications or repairs carried out by anyone other than Ecofurniture or a party we authorise
  • Commercial use of products designed for domestic use (unless purchased through our Trade program)
  • Consumables β€” light bulbs, batteries, glue
  • Natural variation in timber grain, fabric weave, leather markings, or stone patterns β€” these are inherent characteristics, not defects
  • Items purchased second-hand β€” this warranty is only available to the original purchaser
  • Cosmetic damage after delivery β€” see our Refund Policy for damage-in-transit claims (must be reported within 48 hours)

Assembly

Ecofurniture does not provide assembly services. All flat-pack furniture must be assembled by the customer following the instructions provided.

  • If a component is missing or arrives damaged before assembly, contact us within 7 days and we'll replace it free of charge
  • Damage caused during assembly (e.g., stripped screws, over-tightened fittings, incorrect construction) is not covered by warranty

Follow the assembly instructions carefully. If you're unsure, we recommend engaging a professional handyman or assembler at your own cost.

Care and maintenance

To keep your warranty valid and your furniture looking its best:

  • Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth
  • Clean spills immediately with a damp (not wet) cloth
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or wax polishes unless specifically recommended
  • Keep furniture away from direct sunlight, heaters, and open flames
  • Do not stand or jump on furniture
  • Rotate mattresses every 3 months (once launched)
  • Do not overload drawers, shelves, or cabinets beyond their design capacity

How to make a warranty claim

  1. Email us at support@ecolifefurniture.com.au with:
    • Your order number
    • Date of delivery
    • Clear photos or a short video of the defect
    • A description of what happened and when you first noticed the issue
  2. We will respond within 3 business days to acknowledge your claim and request any additional information needed.
  3. Inspection β€” we may ask for further photos, video, or arrange collection of the item for inspection.
  4. Outcome β€” if your claim is accepted, we will offer:
    • Repair of the defect (parts and labour), OR
    • Replacement with an identical product (or equivalent if the original is discontinued), OR
    • Refund to your original payment method (for major failures under the ACL)

We will cover reasonable return shipping costs for accepted warranty claims.

Timeframe: We aim to resolve accepted claims within 30 business days. For larger issues (e.g., production of a replacement piece) this may take longer.

Your Australian Consumer Law rights

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure, and
  • Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage, and
  • Repair or replacement if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure

This Warranty is provided in addition to your ACL rights. It does not limit or exclude them. For more information about your consumer rights, visit accc.gov.au.
